BERITA BOLA,- Fortaleza - Spain proceeded to the final of Confederations Cup after beating Italy 7-6 on penalties. Spanish goal keeper and captain, Iker Casillas, said they were lucky. "Penalties are lottery and we were lucky to win," Casillas said after the semifinal match early this morning (Thursday night local time). "My teammates have had full success on the penalties and they (Italy) missed one."
Following a scoreless 120-minute match held at Estadio Governador Placido Alderaldo Castelo, Spain beat Italy 7-6 on penalties. Casillas said it was a tough match. "The truth is it was very difficult to win. Italy had made an excellent approach. We tested Buffon as well but they placed us in trouble."
Spain will face Brazil in the final, who beat Uruguay 2-1. Casillas expects the team to give their best in the final. "We will have to face Brazil in the Maracana. We will try to play a good game."
Spain has never won any title in the Confederations Cup. In the South African Confederations Cup, Spain only managed to reach semifinal.
